The Retreat

Hello there wild wanderer, it's nice to meet you!

Come and join us solo or with friends for 4 nights in our luxury converted chapel, nestled in the mountains amongst the wilderness, nature in its finest form. We will explore the trails of the land by day and relax in the evening with nourishing food cooked by our private chef and restore our bodies with mindful movement, sending you into deep relaxation, ready for another day of adventure. Oh and did I mention we have a sauna!

Expect your time to be filled with wandering the wild places, summiting new heights, connecting with nature, mindful movement, meditation and therapeutic sounds.

Snowdonia holds a place dear to my heart. As a child we would come here with the family on camping trips, come rain or shine - it’s where my passion for hiking, rock climbing and the great outdoors began. It's a magical place that will capture your heart and soul and send you home feeling inspired and restored.

Hikes - what to expect

Peak Challenge: Yr Wyddfa (aka Mount Snowdon)

At 1085m high, Yr Wddfa is the highest mountain in Wales, and the highest point in the British Isles outside the Scottish Highlands. It’s a stunning caldron of many routes, ranging from steady wide pathways for those that want to take it slow and steady to craggy ridge walks for the thrill seekers that are looking for something a little more technical.

The route that we will be hiking will be a little in-between and regardless of what the weather will bring, you’ll be left feeling empowered, inspired and full of life; knowing that when you set your mind to something, anything is possible!

A moderate level of mobility is required for this as there will be some rocky pathways, you should also be able to walk on and off for around 5 hours at a reasonable pace – BUT by no means do you have to be ‘super fit’. Most people are physically capable of climbing Snowdon without doing any specific training. It will however, make it easier and your day more enjoyable if you go on some long walks to prepare.

The main thing to remember is that we’re here for the views and the experience, no counting steps and times here – we can take as many stops as we like and there’ll of course be snacks and yummies provided along the way. You’ll be surprised at what you’re capable of, especially after a few breath work sessions in your yoga class.

This is your chance to break down any limiting beliefs of "I can’t"and feel the support of the mountain and like-minded souls that will be with you on this journey. Time to reclaim back your health and wellbeing!

There will be many places to explore in your own time too - from the Elidir Horseshoe trail (one of the welsh 3000's) which leaves right from our doorstep, waterfalls, the Unesco world heritage site of the slate quarry and many other interesting places that behold the Welsh charm. You can join in as much or as little as you like. That’s the beauty of a retreat. This is your time to give yourself what you need.

Yoga & Meditation - what to expect

The Yoga will be a mixture of gentle stretching and breathwork, tailored around the activities of the day ahead. This will help stretch out the body, getting those legs and lungs ready for the day's adventures. The evenings will be a mix of relaxing Yin and Restorative yoga with therapeutic sound meditations weaved in throughout your stay; and if the weather permits, a waterfall meditation in the enchanting Padarn Woodland.

Each day will look a little different in terms of how many sessions, times and location. If the weather is dry, we’ll be taking it outdoors to soak in those glorious views. On the big hike days we will be heading out early to get a good start on the trails.

Important Notice - No experience necessary at all!

By no means do you have to be experienced in Yoga, the classes will be suitable for total beginners as well as the well-practiced yogi. This will be a safe and inclusive space - just come as you are, move at your own pace – you do you!

Food - what to expect

There's just something so humbling about gathering around a table at the end of the day, sharing food, stories and laughter - it's a chance to connect and feel that community love.

You’ll be receiving a menu of wholesome plant based delights catered by our in-house chef. Brekkie, lunch and dinner will be served on all full days along with a welcome dinner on arrival and a goodbye breakfast before we say our farewells.

Any dietary requirements can be catered for, we’ll just need a heads up. Snacks and Teas will also be provided throughout your stay.

Accomodation

Your place of peace and rest for the duration of your stay will be in a stunningly restored Chapel in Dinorwig near Llanberis - a thriving base for the outdoor enthusiast.

The accommodation comprises of an open plan living and dining area with a log burning fire; This is were we will be relaxing, eating and taking full advantage of the amazing views for our yoga sessions. Oh and there’s a Sauna and games room too - Yep, girl did good!

Dinorwig is tucked away upon a hillside in the Pardarn Country Park next to the old disused slate quarry which forms part of the heart of the Welsh heritage. Lln Pardarn (Lln is welsh for Lake) is just a 20 minute walk down hill for those that fancy a cold water dip, which I highly recommend!

You can also take a 10 min drive down to Llanberis if you don’t fancy the walk back up the hill – there will be opportunity to hire SUP boards and kayaks for a paddle on the lake too

The Hikes

Hikes will go ahead come rain or shine, I'll keep you up to date closer to the start of the retreat as to what we can expect, if a severe weather warning is issued we may have to have a jiggle around with the itinerary.

Travel info

I would recommend driving to the venue as the journey over is  stunning and will give you more freedom to explore – car sharing is always a great option to help split costs too.

There is parking for around 6-8 cars on site and off road parking nearby. There is also an electric car charging point which can be paid directly to the owner – Price on request.

The closest train station is Bangor and taxis can be easily found to get you to the venue.
